Activities to do with your family during Sukkot

Untitled-design-2

Tishri is a very special month. Sukkot occurs during this time and many people take time to reconnect with themselves and with their family. There are many activities that allow for people to rediscover each other and enjoy moments with people to matter the most. While many people choose to travel during this time there are activities to do at home. But what activities can you choose to participate in for this sukkot holiday?
There are lots of possibilities which are simple, inexpensive, and fun. Here we have listed five activities that we hope will inspire you.

  • Have a family picnic

Prepare quick and easy things to eat like wraps, a savory cake, salty waffles, or a salad (for allergy-free recipe ideas, it's here). Plan a family walk in the woods of Jerusalem or other nearby places and take a break to eat your picnic. All the family will enjoy it!

  • Discover the city of Jerusalem

Want to discover areas of Jerusalem that you didn’t know of? Try exploring Jerusalem as if it were an unknown destination. Go to Mahane Yehuda to discover delicious Israeli food. Get lost (or book a tour) in the beautiful old city of Jerusalem with over 4000 years of history.

  • Watch the sunset

To enjoy a beautiful sunset, you should go to Yafo, the southern and oldest part of Tel Aviv-Yafo, an ancient port city in Israel. Enjoy this simple pleasure as a family. Watch the changing colours, this has the ability to provide a calming effect. Allowing a sense of relaxation for the entire family.

  • International evening

Choose a country and organize an international party around that country. This is an opportunity to learn about this country, culture, and favorite dishes. The goal is then to prepare typical dishes and enjoy them together. You can also dress according to the tradition of the country and listen to typical music. A simple and fun way to get away from it all with the family. Change of scenery guaranteed!

  • Spa Day

Who doesn't love relaxing moments in a spa? What if you invite the spa to your home? Create a cocooning atmosphere by lighting candles and accompany with soft music and perfume. Prepare bathrobes and towels, just like in an authentic spa. Have a bath with face and hair masks. And then pamper yourself with a manicure, pedicure, and a massage. Everyone is entitled to their massage session!

Recommended by an Infectious Disease Specialist

My experience with Ema Care has been so positive that I wanted to share it in case it could help someone else. Eight days ago my daughter, a Shanah Bet student, called to say she wasn’t feeling well and had symptoms of Covid-19. I was put in touch with an Infectious Disease specialist who recommended Ema Care. I reached Dr. Eliana Aaron easily and signed my daughter up. The next morning, Ema Care gave my daughter a telehealth exam and provided her with prescriptions, as well as a list of
