Thankfully, the coronavirus sanctions are lifting. The kupahs are getting back to normal working hours, and it is time to stop ignoring your important medical care.

Top 5 Areas of Healthcare

1. Family doctor - Many of us may have seen our family doctor via telephone call or Zoom meeting, but there is nothing like an in-person consultation with your doctor. If you have not been feeling 100% (not coronavirus related) and/or you need prescriptions refilled, now is the time to go. Request referrals from your family doctor to see specialists.

2. Pharmacy – restock medication, including over-the-counter medication. Make sure any old prescriptions you have are still valid. If not, request new prescriptions from your doctor.

3. ANY specialist appointment, blood test, or medical test such as a CT scan, that was canceled during the lockdown. Look at your calendar and remind yourself what has been canceled and reschedule as soon as possible. It is necessary to check in with your kupah to make sure the referral and/or hitchavut (guarantee of payment required for certain appointments) is still valid. If not, you need to begin the process all over again.

4.Dentist – reschedule a cleaning or dental treatment.

5. GO OUTSIDE! One of the most important areas of healthcare is to be outside in fresh air and sunshine. Put on sunscreen, a hat, and of course protective masks and gloves. Bring a bottle of water. Take a walk, making sure to maintain a safe distance from people.
